35W Bridge Collapses

The the southbound 35W bridge across the Missippi collapsed into the river during the evening rush hour today at 6:05 pm. Workers have been repairing
the bridge it clearly just gave way. Many people have been injured and some are critical. The bridge was 64 four foot high steel-arch deck truss bridge, built in 1967. For all intensive purposes it should have never fallen down. I am sure the stress of the repairs coupled with the added weight and the heat we've been having made it finally give out. Add to that the coming storms and it's going to be a difficult night at the scene. I just hope no one is permanently injured from this terrible incident.
